Basic Overview of Using OrganizeYourGolfEvent.com HomeFirst things First - Signing up If you want to be an organizer of an event you must first register on the site and create an account. It's free easy and you need very basic information to sign-up. In the process of signing up, we will send an email to the email account that you use to verify that it is really you, so make sure you read and follow the directions when registering. As with all web site registrations it sometimes happens that the email we send you goes to your junk or spam folder due to your email service protecting you so if you don't see it in your Inbox, check your junk or spam filter. Click the link in the email and you are on your way. Creating an Event Once you have an account as an organizer and you log in, you can click the Start Event button on the home page or on your profile page and it will begin the process. You will get a chance to make a 1st Pass through all the steps to getting started. Your event starts with setting the dates and the place. Although you initial go through a step by step process, we've set it up so that you don't have to have all the information to get started. If you've ever organized a golf event for a group of buddies or gals, you know that it takes serious planning and it's an iterative process. So we've tried to make OYGE dynamic in the sense that you can step through and fill out as much information as you have to get started. We create your Event Web site right after you enter the dates and place, so literally the Event site is up and available as soon as a participant is invited and accepts the invite. The site gets poplulated with information as you complete the information in the organizer section that only you have access to. You will find the organizer setup web pages under your profile and anytime you want to come back and add or update information you just go to your profile, click edit under the event you started and you can go to any page you would like by simply clicking on links on the left hand column. Once an event actually gets started there are ongoing tasks that an organizer will do, so we've organized 4 steps under the section MANAGE YOUR EVENT to make it easy to find. Adding photos, inviting fans, entering scores, and creating communication emails. Of course you can go to any of the pages and make changes and updates at any time. Inviting Participants We've set it up so you can invite people via email to sign up for your event through organizeyourgolfevent.com. Once signed up they become a participant that you can share the Event Web site and start communicating with them. |
